Hej hej! Välkommen till Sverige!

Welcome to my Sweden page. Here you’ll find everything you want to know about your Sweden vacation. Since 2018 I’ve traveled to Sweden every summer and in 2023 I decided to move there. I bought a house in the north of Sweden (Swedish Lapland) and living here brings me a lot of joy every day. All my blogs about Sweden are only based on my own personal experiences and information has been gathered throughout the summers I spent here.

This page forms the base for your next trip up north. Check out my favorite places in Sweden below, the best blogs and of course plenty of information about the country. Enjoy reading and feel free to reach out if you have any questions! Are you Dutch? Then visit my Dutch page about Sweden or order my Dutch guidebook about Sweden below.

Antonette in Sweden

In the summer of 2015 I traveled to Sweden for the first time and visited the Småland region. In 2018 I returned and made a one month roadtrip through the north of Sweden, which I consider the base for my passion for this amazing country. In the summer of 2023 I bought a house in Swedish Lapland and moved up north, on my own.

When I’m not traveling for work, I spend my free time in Sweden in nature. In the summer I enjoy hiking and often head out on multi day adventures. I also enjoy (ice) fishing, berry picking and finding edible mushrooms.

Östersund

One of my favorite cities in Sweden is Östersund, located in the middle of Sweden. The city is quite compact, making most sights accessible on foot. Be sure to visit the beautiful Jamtli museum and don’t forget to have a fika at one of the many coffee shops.

Wild camping in Sweden: these are the rules of the Allemansrätten

One of the things I really love about Sweden is that you can go wild camping. The Everyman’s Right (Right of Public Access) in Sweden, or the Allemansrätten, means that you roam freely everywhere. This therefore not only applies to…

Renting a car in Sweden

Are you planning to rent a car in Sweden? I can absolutely say yes to this option, as driving in Sweden is generally easy as most of the roads are quiet. Use the button below to choose between plenty of rental companies all over the country and the right type of rental car for your road trip in Sweden.

Again, make sure to book well ahead as Sweden is picking up in popularity. Prices will only increase but seldom go down.
