As I’m writing this (Sunday evening 22.08 hrs) it’s exactly one week ago since we got home from Austria. From the Kaisertal to be more precise. I’m sure you may not have heard of that before, yet you may have heard of Kufstein or the Wilder Kaiser?
We needed a few days to recover from the trip. From the forever taking drive back home which took nearly 11 hours because of an insane number of Baustellen on the German Autobahn. From the beautiful yet pretty exhausting hikes we did while it was about thirty degrees. From the mosquito bites Martijn got and kept him (and so me as well) awake at night. From the splendor of these mountains that surprised me in any possible way. If they would have been in Yosemite National Park, no one would have noticed they are in fact Austrian mountains. We ate a ton of Apfelstrudels and Wiener Schnitzels, made hundreds of pictures, hiked lots of kilometers and were breathless over and over again, not just because of the steep ascents. Have a look at our journey and enjoy it, just like we did one week ago…
Quite stunning, isn’t it?
