Cycling the Otago Central Rail Trail in New Zealand

When you are from The Netherlands, aka “the country where everyone always rides a bike” (and NOT, “the country where everyone visits family on their ice skates because we have so many canals”, as it has once been said during the recent winter Olympics), there’s no way we could say no to a little adventure on the Otago Central Rail Trail while in New Zealand.  This 152 kilometer former railway takes you through some truly stunning scenery in Central Otago and shouldn’t be too much of a problem for anyone who knows how to ride a bike. Cycling the Moselradweg between Trier and Cochem

The Moselradweg is a more than 300 kilometer long cycling route in Germany. It takes you along the twisting bends of the Mosel river between Metz in France and Koblenz in Germany, where the Mosel flows into the Rhine. Recently I cycled a part of this incredible cycling route, which is in the top 10 of most beautiful long distance cycling routes in Germany. Find the answer below!     Start of the trip in Nittel If you are not able to cycle the entire Moselradweg, then…

And yet we still wanted to go. Why? It was just a gut feeling. In this case, listening was the right decision. So off we went. We’d heard great stories about seeing and hiking and biking to Maroon Bells, so we just did not want to let the opportunity pass for…

Bike tour Ubud: cycling through Bali’s rice fields

Welcome to this article about cyclin in Ubud, Bali. Have you seen ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ where Liz Gilbert cycles through the Bali rice fields? It’s very romanticized and I figured it would be hard to find such scenery when in Bali. I had heard that the Ubud area has changed a lot over the years and that I shouldn’t expect too much of it. However being Dutch, I figured that exploring Bali by bike would be a fun activity. I looked around for a bit and eventually found a Bali bike tour that I really ended up enjoying. Here’s more about it, enjoy reading about my experiences on this Ubud…
