Hiking in the Harz: climbing Brocken

Climbing Brocken – the highest peak in the Harz Mountains Brocken measures 1.141 meters above sea level and is the highest mountain in the Harz region as well as the highest mountain in northern Germany. During your trip to the Harz Mountains you can visit this special place, you certainly shouldn’t not miss it. You can climb Brocken on foot (my favorite!), with the famous Brockenbahn steamtrain or by bike.   Since the 17th century, the Harz was seen as the place in Germany where the witches gathered. Walking Wednesday: hiking the Mullerthal Trail

It’s been a while since we last did a “Walking Wednesday” but I can hardly say that we didn’t go hiking. I just didn’t feel like writing for a while so that’s why I didn’t. However, last weekend’s hike was just too good not to be mentioned here, so I’m happy to re-introduce the Walking Wednesday … on those days we spend our favorite hiking trails, mostly of the previous weekend, with our readers. Being in charge of the Facebook page of the company you work for, has a big advantage: you get to browse through inspiring travel pages such as Lonely Planet and Matador, in search of the perfect article to share with your audience. Every now and then I stumble upon a page that draws my personal attention, too. Like today. “Trekking Nepal’s most hair-raising passes” the article heading said. I clicked through and started reading… The idea to go to Nepal is pretty new. As in decided and booked within less than 2 weeks. Normally, deciding on a big trip takes forever. Not this time though because Nepal just sounded perfect. Doing…
