The 10 most beautiful places in Sweden for your bucket list

When you say Sweden, you mainly say nature. Sweden is filled with crystal clear lakes, forests, tiny red houses and endless landscapes. I first visited Sweden in 2007, when I went on a city trip to Stockholm. 13 years later, I’m madly in love with Sweden and have traveled there 10 times over the past decade. We are even considering buying a house there so we can spend our summers up north, far from the hustle and bustle here in the Netherlands and the hectic everyday life. In recent years we regularly drove by car to Sweden via the bridge from Denmark to Sweden. Sometimes in winter, but usually in…

The best cities in Sweden to visit this year

Although I am more of a nature person myself, I usually enjoy visiting a city in Sweden during my travels as well. I visited Stockholm no less than four times for a city trip (what a lovely place) and I also went to Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden for a city trip. Kungsleden hike: from Kvikkjokk to Saltoluokta

Because of the various lakes that you cross by boat, this particular section is a bit more complicated than the other sections. That’s why I’ll tell you all about it in this article so that you are well prepared for your journey. Enjoy reading!   About the Kungsleden hike in Sweden The Kungsleden Trail (the “King’s Trail”) is Sweden’s most popular multi-day hike. The more than 400 kilometer long…

Adventure in Vålådalen Nature Reserve, Sweden

While the raindrops hit the windows and the wind howls around the house, we grab our phones again. Rain, rain and more rain. It’s August 2019 and we are in Norway, where we have rented a cabin in the Åkrafjord. Apart from one day we have only had rain so far and it doesn’t seem to get much better in the next days. We look at each other and know that staying in Norway is not an option. The next day we load our luggage in Rudolph the Volvo, get in the car and take off to our beloved Sweden. David knows a nice place where we could possibly hike…
