    Fall foliage on the Dempster Highway

    As I was taking a walk through the park during lunch break this afternoon, I realized that even though I am always complaining that it’s getting cold, fall is one of my favorite seasons. When it’s a sunny day, that is. Even though the leaves already started coloring early September here this year, most of the trees still got plenty on them. It’s been quite warm for this time of the year however if we have to believe the weather station, that will change tomorrow.     Dawson City: more than “just a town”

    “It’s twenty miles from Dawson and times are awful though” That’s the one sentence that made the most impression on me while reading “Drifting Home” by Pierre Berton. This book was recommended to me by fellow Yukon lover and colleague Danielle, whom I traveled to the Yukon with a couple of years ago. The novel is about a journey made by Mr. Berton and his family as they travel down the Yukon River in rubber rafts in search of his father’s footsteps.     As it’s time to hit the road again, we’ll keep you occupied with plogs from now on. Anto is currently in Canada for work, Martijn will be off to the Alps soon.     we12travel: our 14 year anniversary

    Happy birthday to … us! Today, to be more precise tonight at 6.00 pm European time, marks our 14 year anniversary. 14 Years together, filled with travel, right from the start. During these years we have visited 43 countries and were away from home about 2 months on average each year. Yes, life has been good for us. Here’s a list of our favorite trips we took together. Off to the next  14 years! 2000: Paris, France  Our first real trip together! We went for 2 days, one sightseeing in Paris and one in Disney Land, or Euro Disney (or however it’s called nowadays). We went back there in 2002 and 2004 ……
